Johannes Tsietsi Mmesi

Johannes is 59 years old father of three children; two girls and a boy. He was born and raised in Supingstad.

After completing his matric he went to work on one of the mines at Rustenburg for 13 years. He resigned as he wished to study further to become a builder – he attended Boskop Farm School. He also spends time at his church the Z.C.C singing and preaching the word of God.

Johannes loves to read and embroidering Rhinos is a new found joy.

Hilda Mmuthlane

Hilda was born in Supingstad 46 years ago: A mother of two girls and grandmother of one. She takes care of her niece of 4 as her sister passed away.

Hilda works at the Madikwe Academy as a child minder and her deepest wish is to qualify as a teacher. Hilda enjoys spending time in a quiet and peaceful place.

She hopes to be able to build her own home, for her family.

Bertha Morwagae

Bertha Morwagae

Bertha was born 62 years ago and lives in Supingstad. She returned to the village after spending 16 years as a housekeeper in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Bertha took over responsibility for raising her four young grandchildren, after the death of her son Sam.

This talented woman enjoys making clothes for her family and also crochets.

Boitumelo Gladys Sibanda

Boitumelo Gladys Sibanda

Boitumelo Gladys was born in 1953 on the 23rd of September – she was raised in Supingstad village.

She worked in Florida, Gauteng, as a house keeper and a baby sitter.

She spends most of her time sewing, which she enjoys very much.

She is happy to be part of the “Supingstad Sewing Circle” working together with Bopa Monyetla to earn an extra income.
